The Ultimate Transformation

Just as a butterfly can no longer identify itself with the life as a caterpillar, God wants to bring us to a place where we can no longer identify with our former life. What the egg is in its infancy contains all that it will be once it matures. The egg is like a seed, what it will be, it already is.

It is not a matter of us becoming a new and improved version of our old self, but there is a complete change. Our new self is in no wise like our former self. Just as the caterpillar can’t grasp life as a butterfly, the butterfly can no longer grasp life as a caterpillar.

When God takes us to a high place, the change is supposed to be so dramatic that we can’t even relate to the former things. That is the kind of change that God wants to take us through.
