It never ceases to amaze me that what can look like complete chaos in the present, can turn into a perfectly orchestrated design by the hand of God in hindsight. My most difficult times may have originated in the boardroom of hell, but they were permitted in the “throne room” of heaven. Today, I am the sum total of events good, bad, and ugly. Miraculously, in God even the bad and ugly somehow have worked out for my good.
I said all of that to say this; God does have a plan for us. Although we may go through seasons that seem to have no redeeming value, trust that in the midst of it all God is doing a work beneath the surface that in time will yield an increase you never thought possible. During these trying times, we often tell ourselves “this too shall pass.” As true of a statement as that may be, we should not overlook the fact that there is a lesson to be learned prior to the “passing.” It is in that place that the Master Teacher does His greatest work and we experience our greatest amount of growth.
When you find yourself in the midst of your “dark” season, remember what Jesus Christ “The Light” has promised in His Word; on the other side of the “trying of your faith” lies a life that is “perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing.” (James 1:3&4) That’s good news! Only God can take the pain of the present and birth an incredible harvest of joy and peace. Maintaining an eternal perspective on life enables us to make sense of the past, assures us of hope in the present, and gives us faith in the One who holds our future.
Surrounding my house, there are a number of very large trees. I have been told that roots go as deep beneath the ground as the tips of the trees reach the skies. In the same way, I believe that the light that eventually breaks forth in our lives is only as brilliant as the darkest midnight that preceded it.
May our walk only become deeper and richer in Him as we trust God with the various seasons of our lives.
Grace & Peace

I thank God for His word AND I thank God for you being His vessel Pastor. This one hit home not only for my life but for the lives of many friends of mine who are going through probably some of the darkest times they've seen and I had to forward it to them. May God continue using you to spread His word and love.
