A few years ago, I received a reservation/questionnaire form for my 20th high school reunion. One of the questions asked was “What one thing (advice) would you like to tell your classmates after 20 years?” After contemplating a few minutes, the following words came to mind: “Die Empty!”
It has been said “ he who dies with the most toys wins.” I believe the reverse is true. He who dies with nothing left to give wins. Like the Apostle Paul, I too want to “finish my course;” not just begin it. As for goals and aspirations, I want to take every land and conquer every mountain God has set before me. (Joshua 14:7-12) As for my relationships, I want to leave this world with the knowledge that “as much as depended upon me, I lived peaceable with all men” (Romans 12:18). As for my wife, I want her to one day say, “truly – this man loved me as Christ loved the church” (Ephesians 5:25). And for my children and children’s children, I want to leave an inheritance of not only wealth, but more importantly a good name. (Proverbs 13:22 & 22:1)
In short, I want to die empty – with nothing left to give. By God’s design, true success is measured by what a man gives away, not by what to he possesses. If we would take a closer look, the majority of our problems stem from our inability to let go of the things we try desperately to hold on to. Greed, pride, selfishness – all indicators of the “he who dies with the most toys” approach to life. Let’s endeavor to reverse the curse. Die Empty!

Hi,
my response would be that by finishing my course, ran the good race, and did now waver from the word of God. That I saved the lost, healed the brokenhearted with the healing word of Jesus Christ. Saved as many people as I could..Showing them through God's word how Jesus really loved them..
Matt. 28:18-20 Jesus gave us a command to go into all the nations and tell the people about Jesus. Get them born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit. By doing this I can stand before God and have him say, "Well done Good and faithful servant."
God dosen't care about us having "toys" or money. What he cares about is: does it have a hold on me or do I have a hold on them? Am I doing all I can do for the building up of the Kingdom, or as you stated money for more toys. If we are serving God you will get all you desire and more, if not what you have will be taken away. All my children will serve the Lord!!!!! My love of the Lord and all he has done for me and I for him will be the legacy I leave my family....
Just love that great warrior, Joshua...God said that he would give him every place where he set his feet... Joshua 1:1-9 By having a realtionship with the Lord the battles were already won......by guess who? THE LORD. That is where we have to be now...By being a covenat person of God we will have the land.. Conquer the mountians???? Isaiah 42:15 (all of 42 is good) I will lay waste the mountians and the hills. God has already done the work making a way for us to do the work he has called each of us to do.... In Joshua 14, Calab was reminding him of God's promise 38 yrs before when he brought back a good report. Vs 13 Joshua blessed Calab with the land... Because Calab followed the Lord wholehartedly. This is the place we need to be in...No matter what goes on around us...God is still ruling and reinging in heaven and nothing can stop us because, "greater is he on the inside of me than he that is in the world."
Paul didn't finish his race without a little adversity! He had to fight for the rights of the people. Warn them of false prophets, people with hidden agendas. We are in the end times and if you read or hear the news, now is the time to stand up for God.
